The Press in English

Hi everyone,

I told you this week that you have the opportunity to read the press in English. I found the link to the English Issue of El Pais. If you like other newspapers, maybe there is also an online version in English. And I think both students from Intermediate One and Intermediate Two will benefit extraordinarily if you start reading the press in English on a regular basis.

Here is the version I found:

And examples of the exam

And here is a link to one model of the INTERM.TWO exam. But this exam is from the EOI Pamplona. The exam in Madrid doesn't have to be exactly like this. However, it is good for you to see how the structure could be:

In Departamentos de Idiomas, go to Programas Inglés Basico e Intermedio, and in the "programacion", there is a link at the end which says "modelo de prueba"

And also the website to the model of the exam in the EOI Tudela:

WELCOME

Hi everyone,Today I had the first class with one of my Intermediate Two Groups. And we spoke a bit about the Phonemes of English.

I will try to photocopy a good chart that I have at home so that you can use it to improve your spoken English and pronunciation.

And I will also try to fill your Intermediate Two section with links for you to practise at home...Meanwhile, have a look at the links already available in the different sections of my blog. And also this link on different accents(in Britain only!!)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/voices/recordings/index.shtmlPS Please click on the image to see the phonemes properly....

Some Music

Close your eyes,
Have no fear,
The monsters gone,
He's on the run and your daddy's here,

Beautiful,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy,

Before you go to sleep,
Say a little prayer,
Every day in every way,
It's getting better and better,

Beautiful,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy,

Out on the ocean sailing away,
I can hardly wait,
To see you to come of age,
But I guess we'll both,
Just have to be patient,
Yes it's a long way to go,
But in the meantime,

Before you cross the street,
Take my hand,
Life is just what happens to you,
While your busy making other plans,

Beautiful,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy,
Darling,
Darling,
Darling Sean.

Listening to Podcasts

Good morning:
Here's a link to loads of great podcasts on the BBC.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/podcasts/directory/genre/

If you start listening to the radio every day (10 mins, 15 mins, 20 mins etc etc etc)you will see how your listening skills improve...

At the beginning it will be a bit difficult because you won't understand much, but it takes time, it's like when you start going to the gym, you need time to build muscles!!!

I hope you like the podcasts here!!!
